During October 2024, Codeofdusk enhanced the increpare/espeak-ng repository by adding a dedicated pronunciation entry for the English word "kamala" to the word list, addressing a gap in the dictionary’s phonetic coverage. This work focused on dictionary management and text processing, ensuring that the new entry aligned with established standards for pronunciation accuracy in text-to-speech systems. Codeofdusk implemented the change through a single, well-documented commit, maintaining clear traceability and ease of future maintenance. By validating the update against dictionary conventions, Codeofdusk improved consistency across English entries and reduced the risk of mispronunciation in downstream TTS applications.
