Worked on the mozilla-services/merino-py repository to deliver an ad placement enhancement feature that expands monetization opportunities by allowing ads in additional ranks within content sections. The implementation focused on backend development using Python, with careful attention to updating the API logic to support the new ad placement rules. Comprehensive testing was conducted to validate the updated logic, ensuring correct ad behavior across various content scenarios. Additionally, improvements were made to the continuous integration pipeline by correcting formatting issues, which contributed to more reliable and consistent builds. The work emphasized maintainability and robust validation through targeted test suite updates.
