October 2025: Delivered a major upgrade to the Expo EAS CLI with a smarter 'eas new' UX, introducing smarter defaults and a streamlined project setup flow. Implemented improved defaults for project names and directories, enhanced package-manager handling, and a streamlined setup process for creating new Expo projects with EAS services. Added robust tests and refactoring to improve maintainability and user experience. No major bugs fixed this month; the focus was on feature delivery and code quality improvements to accelerate onboarding and ensure consistent project initialization for Expo users.

September 2025: Delivered two major enhancements across expo/eas-cli and expo/expo that accelerate onboarding, improve consistency, and tighten template synchronization. Implemented Expo project scaffolding via EAS CLI with new commands to create a project from a default template, install dependencies, configure app.json and eas.json, initialize Git, and set up helper scripts, supporting both eas-cli new and eas new flows. Updated the GitHub Actions workflow in expo/expo to monitor the app template repository on the sdk-54 branch to keep templates aligned with the latest development work. These changes reduce onboarding time, minimize manual configuration, and improve CI/CD reliability across projects.
