During June 2025, Gilou contributed to the Orange-OpenSource/community.zabbix repository by standardizing Ansible facts gathering for Zabbix agent and proxy roles. Gilou refactored the playbooks, removing gather_facts directives from individual tasks and consolidating facts gathering at a higher level, which aligns with established Ansible best practices. This change, implemented using YAML and Ansible, improved the maintainability and reproducibility of Zabbix role deployments. By simplifying configuration and reducing per-task complexity, Gilou’s work made future enhancements and audits more straightforward. The update also supports easier onboarding for new contributors and ensures more predictable deployments across the project’s infrastructure.
