During March 2025, Alex focused on maintaining and improving the security posture of the getsentry/sentry-java repository by upgrading its Spring Boot dependency from version 2.7.5 to 2.7.18. This work addressed multiple security vulnerabilities and ensured continued compatibility for downstream users relying on Spring Boot 2. Alex utilized skills in build tools, dependency management, and security patching, working primarily with Kotlin and Markdown to implement and document the changes. Although no new features were introduced, the targeted bug fix and changelog update reflected a careful, maintenance-driven approach, emphasizing stability and long-term support for the project’s user base.
