During November 2024, Ownerofglory delivered Ukrainian localization for navigation instructions in the GIScience/openrouteservice repository. They enhanced the platform’s internationalization by adding Ukrainian locale codes to API enums and providing translated navigation terms and phrases, using Java and JSON to implement these changes. This work expanded the accessibility of navigation features for Ukrainian-speaking users, directly supporting a broader user base. Ownerofglory demonstrated a strong understanding of localization workflows and API design, ensuring seamless integration of new language support. The depth of their contribution lay in both the technical implementation and the thoughtful approach to user experience for non-English speakers.
