Developed Android folder dialog support with persistent URI permissions for the libsdl-org/SDL repository, enabling SDL-based applications to allow users to select directories and maintain access across app launches. This feature was implemented using Java and C, leveraging Android development skills and JNI to integrate with the platform’s Storage Access Framework. The approach introduced a new folder selection dialog type in the SDL Android backend, streamlining file handling and reducing user friction for file-based operations. By aligning with best practices for persistent storage access, the work improved the user experience for file management in SDL-based apps without introducing new bugs.
