Worked on backend development and API improvements for the ml-explore/mlx-lm repository, focusing on enhancing model discovery for locally loaded models. Addressed a key issue where the /v1/models endpoint returned an empty list by exposing the full local path as the model ID, enabling the web UI to correctly access and display available models. Utilized Python for both the bug fix and related test adjustments, ensuring the API’s reliability and alignment with internal tooling and customer workflows. Emphasized thorough testing and minor refinements to validate model listing behavior, ultimately reducing friction for users interacting with locally managed models.
