During their two-month contribution to BrightspaceUI/core, Ryan Goessl focused on improving print rendering and layout stability for the Primary-Secondary Template. Ryan addressed visual inconsistencies by removing borders and footer padding specifically in print mode, ensuring that printed outputs were free from clutter and content overlap. These targeted fixes were implemented using JavaScript, CSS, and Lit, with careful attention to cross-browser consistency and regression prevention. Ryan also updated and expanded test coverage to validate print-specific behaviors, resulting in more reliable business-facing documentation. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to front end development and web component maintenance, emphasizing quality and maintainability.
