Worked on the cognitedata/toolkit repository to enhance security and repository hygiene by addressing the risk of sensitive configuration leakage. Implemented a configuration management update using Git, specifically by adding *.env files to the .gitignore, which prevents environment files generated by the cdf auth init command from being committed to the repository. This change aligned the project with security best practices and reduced the likelihood of accidental exposure of secrets in both local and CI environments. The work focused on strengthening secret management foundations, utilizing skills in configuration management and version control to support future improvements in secure development workflows.
