Developed and integrated a dedicated GitHub Copilot provider for the 0xPlaygrounds/rig repository, focusing on compatibility and extensibility within the existing client-server architecture. Leveraging Rust for API development, the work involved deriving the Copilot provider from the OpenAI module to support Copilot’s unique response formats and multiple AI models, such as GPT-4o and Claude Sonnet 4. The implementation included robust error handling and environment-based authentication, ensuring secure and reliable operation. By isolating Copilot-specific logic, the integration maintained a clean codebase and facilitated future provider expansions, addressing pull request feedback and enhancing maintainability without impacting other providers.
