During April 2025, Damian Golda refactored the File Search feature in the softwaremill/sttp-ai repository to improve reliability and ensure alignment with the OpenAI API. He restructured the FileSearchToolCall and its nested case classes in Scala, updating the data model to include ranking options and results as specified in the latest API documentation. This work focused on robust API integration and data modeling, enhancing the maintainability and future readiness of the file search functionality. Damian’s contributions addressed evolving API requirements, resulting in a more consistent and reliable interface for file search operations without introducing new bugs during the process.
