During November 2024, Damien Leger enhanced deployment flexibility for the appsmithorg/appsmith repository by implementing a configurable HTTP port in the Helm chart. He introduced a new configuration variable in YAML, allowing users to customize the HTTP container port while maintaining backward compatibility with the default port 80. Leveraging his expertise in DevOps, Helm, and Kubernetes, Damien updated the chart version to reflect this change, ensuring smooth integration with existing workflows. This work addressed the need for environment-specific deployments across multiple clusters, reducing operational friction and supporting maintainability. The feature delivered practical value without introducing new bugs during the period.
