During May 2025, Dan Detmer developed an exploratory data analysis script for the lter/lterwg-caged repository, focusing on beta dispersion across ecotypes. Using R and the tidyverse suite, Dan engineered an end-to-end workflow that reads CSV data, computes differences in beta dispersion between caged and uncaged treatments, and visualizes results with boxplots. The script integrates googledrive for streamlined data access and reproducibility, while targeted code comments and improved documentation enhance clarity for future users. This work addressed the need for comparative analysis in ecotype experiments, providing a reproducible, well-documented solution that leverages data analysis and visualization best practices in R.
