Worked on stabilizing BitstringStatusList parsing within the walt-id/waltid-identity repository, focusing on backend development and data decoding using Kotlin. Addressed a decoding issue with multibase-base64url strings that previously caused parsing errors and failures during status list expansion. The solution involved correcting the handling of the first character in the decoding process, implemented through targeted, traceable commits. This fix improved the reliability of identity status processing and reduced the risk of runtime failures in status-dependent workflows. The work emphasized clear commit messages and minimal risk, laying a foundation for enhanced status handling and supporting future resilience and quality assurance efforts.
