
Worked on the aws/aws-cdk repository to deliver EMR Instance Fleet Priority Allocation support, aligning AWS CDK with the full EMR API by enabling prioritized instance fleet allocation for EMR clusters. The implementation involved adding a PRIORITIZED allocation strategy and an optional priority field to InstanceTypeConfigProperty, updating CloudFormation mappings, and ensuring templates reflected the new configuration. Comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests were developed in TypeScript to validate functionality and maintain backward compatibility. No new IAM permissions were required, and manual validation confirmed correct CloudFormation outputs. This enhancement improves scheduling efficiency and cluster provisioning for infrastructure as code users.
