Worked on the juspay/diesel repository to enhance MAC address handling by delivering robust MacAddr8 support across the Diesel stack. Addressed a critical bug by correcting unit-test assertions and updating test usage to ensure accurate MAC address conversions, thereby improving data integrity and reducing migration drift. Extended the Diesel CLI to recognize the macaddr8 type and aligned PostgreSQL migrations and schema management for version 8 compatibility. Emphasized thorough testing and cross-stack collaboration, integrating Rust and SQL to strengthen type safety between the ORM and database layers. This work contributed to more reliable releases and minimized production risks through improved schema consistency.
