During July 2025, Danni enhanced SSH connectivity in the tailscale/tailscale repository by enabling SSH access to IP addresses or DNS names when MagicDNS is disabled, prioritizing IP-based connections. This work involved updating the Go-based command line interface to manage known_hosts entries with explicit IP mappings, improving host key management and security for remote server access. By integrating networking and SSH expertise, Danni reduced administrative friction in non-MagicDNS environments and increased reliability of SSH workflows. The feature was delivered with clear commit-level traceability, supporting easier quality assurance and auditing, and demonstrated a focused, in-depth approach to CLI and networking challenges.
