Worked on the sift-stack/sift repository to enhance data ingestion and storage capabilities by introducing raw byte data support across channels and data APIs. Leveraged protobuf and data modeling skills to update protobuf descriptors, adding created_date metadata and BytesValues fields to improve data fidelity and enable storage and retrieval of raw byte data across services. Clarified the store_message_as_bytes option for both individual messages and collections, reducing ambiguity and improving documentation for downstream teams. All changes were implemented with clear, traceable commits and thorough documentation, demonstrating a methodical approach to protobuf definition updates and cross-team collaboration over a focused two-month period.
