During November 2024, Darshan Mehta developed and refined a dark-mode 404 error page for the acm-ucr/developer-station repository. He implemented the component using React and Next.js, initially leveraging the Next.js Image component for optimized asset loading. After gathering pull request feedback, Darshan migrated the visual asset to SVG and enhanced the interface with a glow effect using Tailwind CSS, improving both performance and alignment with the dark theme. His work focused on accessibility and design consistency, ensuring the error page visually communicated 404 errors while maintaining the repository’s design system. The project primarily utilized TypeScript, CSS, and SVG technologies.
