Worked on the vega/vega-lite repository to improve the reliability of data visualizations by addressing axis tick interval configuration. Focused on a targeted bug fix that ensures user-defined tickMinStep values take precedence over default settings, resulting in more predictable and customizable axis tick intervals for end users. The solution involved disciplined use of TypeScript and JavaScript within a front-end development context, with clear commit messaging and traceability through pull requests. This work enhanced the stability of dashboards that rely on explicit axis configuration, demonstrating attention to user-driven customization and robust handling of data visualization parameters in a production codebase.
