Worked on backend stability and staging optimization for the CruGlobal/mobile-content-api repository, focusing on improving the Monitors LB endpoint. Addressed a bug by implementing environment-specific logic in Ruby on Rails to skip database connection checks when running in the staging environment. This approach reduced unnecessary database interactions, minimized load, and prevented potential errors during development cycles. The solution included conditional migration checks and selective execution of database queries, ensuring the endpoint functioned correctly without impacting production reliability. By validating the endpoint’s behavior in staging, the work enabled safer deployments and faster iteration, leveraging backend development skills and expertise in Ruby.
