Will Team developed and delivered the GitHub OAuth Email Access for Signup feature in the wasp-lang/open-saas repository, focusing on improving the authentication process for new users. By extending GitHub authentication scopes to include email access, Will enabled the application to retrieve user email addresses during signup, streamlining onboarding and supporting email-based verification. The implementation adhered to the least-privilege principle, ensuring only necessary data was accessed. Will’s work demonstrated proficiency in TypeScript and front end development, as well as a disciplined approach to integrating with the GitHub API. The feature addressed onboarding friction and improved the quality of user data collection.
