Worked on the tobymao/sqlglot repository to deliver a targeted fix for multiline SQL comment formatting, ensuring idempotency in pretty mode across different connectors. Addressed a reliability issue in SQL generation by refining how multiline comments are processed, which reduces errors and improves consistency across environments. Leveraged Python and SQL expertise to implement the solution, while also enhancing test hygiene by cleaning up and reformatting test files using Ruff. This approach not only improved code maintainability but also aligned with Gemini CLI review standards, fostering better cross-team collaboration and accountability. The work supports more stable, maintainable releases and reduces flaky behavior.
