
Developed an Ocean Transport Diagnostic feature for the ESMValGroup/ESMValTool repository, enabling a new evaluation workflow for CMIP6 ocean dynamics. The work introduced calculations for ocean heat transport, Antarctic Circumpolar Current transport, and sea surface height gradient magnitude, supporting model validation and analysis of oceanic frontal structures. A dedicated Python diagnostic script was implemented to compute SSH gradients, with supporting updates to documentation and citation files using YAML and reStructuredText. This addition allowed users to assess CMIP6 model performance in ocean dynamics, enhancing scientific insight and validation capabilities. The work demonstrated depth in climate science, data analysis, and geospatial data.
