Worked on the Stellarium/stellarium repository, focusing on enhancing the accuracy of navigational star data within the NavStars plugin. Addressed a data integrity issue by correcting the HIP number for Menkar, which directly improved star positioning and navigation reliability. Applied disciplined software development practices in C++, isolating the issue and delivering a minimal, single-line fix that reduced risk and simplified code review. The targeted approach ensured quick verification and maintained the stability of the existing codebase. Through this work, contributed to the overall quality and trustworthiness of the NavStars feature set, demonstrating attention to detail and effective problem resolution.
