During July 2025, Decretist contributed to the Stellarium/stellarium repository by addressing a navigational data issue in the NavStars plugin. Using C++ and applying disciplined software development practices, Decretist isolated and corrected the Menkar HIP number, which directly improved the accuracy of star positioning and enhanced data integrity for users relying on precise astronomical data. The solution involved a minimal, single-line change, reflecting a targeted and low-risk approach to bug fixing. While the scope of work was focused, the fix demonstrated careful issue analysis, concise implementation, and clear communication, contributing to the overall reliability and maintainability of the codebase.
