Worked on the uswds/uswds repository to enhance the USA Date Picker component, focusing on accessibility and internationalization. Leveraged JavaScript and front end development skills to implement new date seed arrays for months and days of the week, enabling more robust localization and internal date handling. Improved test reliability by addressing file path issues and updating aria-label tests, which strengthened accessibility coverage and compliance with WCAG standards. The work reduced localization friction and improved the user experience for date inputs, while also supporting developer velocity through better testing practices. Emphasized thorough testing and accessibility throughout the development process.
