During November 2025, Demontpx enhanced the symfony/symfony repository by introducing backed enum support for workflow configuration, specifically targeting the initial_marking feature. Leveraging PHP and the Symfony framework, Demontpx modified the configuration logic to accept both strings and backed enums, improving type safety and reducing configuration errors in back-end workflows. The work included normalizing configuration inputs and expanding the test suite to ensure robust regression coverage. Through focused refactoring and close collaboration with technical stakeholders, Demontpx aligned documentation and code, resulting in clearer configuration contracts and laying groundwork for future scalability within Symfony’s workflow component.
