During November 2025, Dero Ito focused on backend development for the cloudnativedaysjp/dreamkast repository, implementing and standardizing cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) to support secure integration with emtec.tv. Using Ruby on Rails, Dero introduced a consistent CORS configuration across all environments, reducing configuration drift and simplifying future enhancements. The work involved refactoring the CORS setup for improved readability and maintainability, as well as consolidating related changes to streamline ongoing maintenance. By enabling a domain allow-list and refining method array handling, Dero’s contributions addressed both security and integration needs, demonstrating depth in Ruby and backend configuration management within a production codebase.
