Worked on the storybookjs/storybook repository to enhance the stability of the mobile navigation experience by addressing a type-safety issue in the renderLabel function. Applied a targeted fix using JavaScript and TypeScript, introducing runtime type checks to ensure that renderLabel consistently returns a string, defaulting to the item name when necessary. This approach prevented unintended display issues, such as [object Object] appearing in the mobile bottom bar, and improved the overall user interface consistency. The work focused on front end and UI development, with careful attention to maintainability and minimal impact, as reflected in clear commit documentation and precise implementation.
