Worked on the mmoayyed/cas repository to refactor the LDAP ActiveDirectoryLdapEntryHandler, focusing on simplifying class structure and aligning with modern logging practices. The approach involved removing inheritance from AbstractEntryHandler and migrating to Lombok’s Slf4j logging, which streamlined maintenance and improved observability for LDAP operations. Upgraded the ldaptive library to version 2.4.0, ensuring compatibility with updated LDAP standards and external dependencies. Emphasized dependency management and Java best practices throughout the process. These changes enhanced the authentication stack’s maintainability and enabled faster debugging, delivering targeted business value without disrupting existing CI pipelines or introducing new bugs.
