During February 2025, Dhenis enhanced the kelseymh/G4CMP repository by focusing on NIEL-related features in Geant4-based physics simulations. Dhenis refactored the NIEL calculation module in C++, consolidating empirical models and updating configuration management to streamline model selection and improve code maintainability. They also clarified the G4CMP_NIEL_FUNCTION environment variable and expanded user documentation in Markdown, providing detailed guidance on available NIEL models and partitioning configuration. These changes improved onboarding for new users and reduced long-term support costs by making the codebase clearer and more organized. The work demonstrated depth in refactoring, documentation, and domain-specific simulation development.
