Worked on the thingsboard/thingsboard-gateway repository to enhance the stability and correctness of data ingestion processes. Focused on backend development using Python, addressing a critical issue in the RequestConnector component. Implemented robust handling for non-JSON responses by detecting decoding failures and appending raw byte content to the configuration converter data, ensuring that mixed-response endpoints no longer cause downstream errors. This targeted bug fix reduced runtime exceptions and preserved configuration data integrity, improving the reliability of the gateway’s ingestion pipeline. The work demonstrated careful attention to error handling and resilience in backend systems, with a clear focus on data processing robustness.
