Worked on improving the reliability and maintainability of background job processing in the ingadhoc/miscellaneous repository, focusing on handling concurrent database loads. Addressed a bug by implementing an in-process retry mechanism for background job acquisition when encountering PostgreSQL serialization failures, which reduced unnecessary cron rescheduling and minimized log noise from expected concurrency conflicts. The solution aligned with established patterns in the codebase to ensure consistency and maintainability. Developed comprehensive unit tests to validate the new retry logic and error handling. Utilized backend development skills with Python and Odoo, demonstrating a methodical approach to enhancing production stability and code quality.
