Worked on stabilizing the New Tab Page experience in the imputnet/helium repository, focusing on users impacted by the disable-ai.patch. Addressed a rendering issue affecting the search bar, ensuring that the search box extension installs correctly and restoring full search functionality for patch-affected users. Utilized C++ and front end development skills to adjust rendering logic, implementing safeguards to prevent regressions across various patch configurations. The debugging process included validating changes to maintain compatibility and stability, ultimately reducing user friction and support requests. This work contributed to preserving the core search user experience and maintaining business value for a broader user base.
