Worked on the opentdf/platform repository to deliver an OpenTelemetry Tracing Enhancement aimed at improving observability across backend services. Focused on updating tracing modules and refining configuration, the work enhanced trace coverage, reliability, and performance while ensuring compatibility with existing instrumentation. Leveraged Go and gRPC to update dependencies, including OpenTelemetry, gRPC Gateway, Protocol Buffers, and OAuth2, aligning the tracing pipeline with the platform’s observability strategy. The feature was implemented with comprehensive tests and documentation updates, emphasizing reliability and maintainability. No major bugs were reported during this period, as efforts centered on feature delivery and strengthening the tracing infrastructure for the platform.
