Worked on the trufflehog repository to address a critical issue in Azure Service Principal secret expiry reporting. Focused on backend development and API integration using Go, the work involved fixing a bug that previously caused expired Azure credentials to be dropped from reports, restoring visibility into secret status. Enhanced error handling now ensures that expired secrets are reported as invalid, aligning with other error types and preserving expiry information. Comprehensive tests were added to validate the new behavior, supporting robust and regression-resistant code. These improvements strengthen the Azure Entra v2 detector, enabling timely remediation of expired secrets and reducing security risk.
