Worked on the nf-core/modules repository to improve configuration management for the GATK4 BaseRecalibrator workflow. Addressed a metadata issue by updating the meta.yml file, removing the 'optional' designation from the known_sites and known_sites_tbi inputs to enforce their mandatory status. This change aligned the module’s configuration with the GATK4 tool manual, reducing the risk of configuration errors and improving workflow reproducibility. Utilized YAML for precise metadata definition and focused on ensuring that tool inputs are clearly specified, which helps prevent runtime failures. The work emphasized reliability and correctness in workflow configuration, contributing to more robust bioinformatics pipelines.
