Modernized the Sord M5 driver in the mamedev/mame repository, focusing on expanding hardware compatibility and improving emulator reliability. Leveraged C++ programming and software engineering skills to add FD-5 floppy disk support, implement optional SRAM in Basic-F and Basic-G cartridges, and refactor memory banking for enhanced stability. Updated software lists to include new ROMs, cassettes, and a utility disk, broadening test coverage and supporting more accurate emulation. Addressed compatibility issues by repairing nearly all non-working ROMs and cassettes, resulting in increased emulator fidelity and enabling more comprehensive preservation, testing, and experimentation of Sord M5 software within the project.
