Month: 2025-10 — In this month I delivered targeted fixes and refactors across two Galaxy projects to improve QC reliability and deployment stability. In brc-analytics, I completed a QC Workflow Generation Refactor that removes redundant version warning logic, centralizes version existence checks (and mismatches) to later QC reporting stages, and simplifies generate_current_workflows; this work also updates the merge_into_existing return type to reflect removal of unused QC entries, reducing noise and maintenance burden. In tools-iuc, I fixed two configuration issues for the cawlign tool: corrected the remote repository URL in .shed.yml to point to the correct location, and added a missing version suffix to the Galaxy tool wrapper to ensure proper versioning and compatibility. Together, these changes improve pipeline reliability, reduce debugging time, and strengthen cross-repo deployment consistency. Technologies demonstrated include Python code refactoring, YAML configuration management, and versioning practices.
