During February 2025, LKJS8269 delivered Korean language localization for the open-metadata/OpenMetadata repository, enabling Korean-speaking users to interact with the platform in their native language. They added a ko-kr locale file and integrated it with the i18next localization framework, updating the supported locales enum and initialization options to ensure seamless language switching. This work involved front end development using TypeScript and JSON, with a focus on internationalization and localization best practices. By laying the technical foundation for Korean support, LKJS8269 enabled broader user adoption and set the stage for future expansion to additional languages within the platform.
