Developed a usability enhancement for the Automattic/harper repository by implementing a --format flag in the Harper CLI tool, enabling users to output lint results in both JSON and compact formats. This addition was designed using Rust and focused on improving command line interface development and software testing practices. The structured output facilitates better integration with external tools, continuous integration systems, and automated reporting workflows. By standardizing output formats, the work aimed to streamline collaboration and accelerate issue triage for development teams. The feature addressed a key business need for interoperability and laid groundwork for further improvements in developer experience and data processing.
