During August 2025, Thomas Dodds modernized Kubernetes metrics and API version documentation in the aws/aws-eks-best-practices repository. He updated metric references to align with current Kubernetes releases, standardized histogram metric representations, and removed outdated version references, improving clarity and maintainability for DevOps teams. Using adoc for documentation and leveraging his expertise in Kubernetes and DevOps, Thomas also revised client authentication API guidance to reflect the latest standards. This work reduced onboarding friction for operators and ensured best practices remained current. The depth of the update addressed both technical accuracy and usability, consolidating guidance for EKS users in a single, authoritative source.
