Over a two-month period, contributed to the apache/pulsar and datastax/pulsar repositories by enhancing load balancing and network management features. Addressed a broker sorting issue in AvgShedder by refactoring the comparison logic using Java’s Comparator API, ensuring accurate numeric sorting and improving system stability. Delivered a feature enabling configurable network interfaces for load balancing, updating ServiceConfiguration and LinuxBrokerHostUsageImpl to support targeted NIC-based management in heterogeneous environments. Demonstrated backend development, network programming, and unit testing skills while collaborating across teams and repositories. The work resulted in more reliable broker allocation and flexible deployment options for Pulsar users.
