During December 2024, Douzzer contributed to the curl/curl repository by developing a crypto library interoperability feature in C. This work enabled dynamic switching between wolfSSL and OpenSSL for core cryptographic functions such as MD4, MD5, and DES, using compile-time macros to support flexible deployments. Douzzer’s approach focused on seamless library integration, addressing stability concerns by refining wolfSSL’s OPENSSL_COEXIST handling within the same implementation. The feature improved interoperability and security options for curl users across diverse environments. While the scope was limited to a single feature, the work demonstrated depth in cryptography and cross-library integration, with no bugs reported or fixed.
