During May 2025, work focused on enhancing auditing and metadata capabilities within the SEMOSS/Semoss repository. Two core backend features were developed using Java, emphasizing database interaction and management. The first improvement introduced a DATEADDED column to the ENGINEPERMISSION table, ensuring that permission grants are now timestamped in UTC for improved traceability and compliance. The second feature enriched engine metadata by surfacing the latest author and modification date, leveraging updates to SecurityEngineUtils and GetEngineMetadataReactor. These changes provide users with clearer context around engine changes, supporting faster incident response and better audit trails without introducing new bugs during the period.
