During November 2024, Dreik focused on security hardening for the grafana/oncall repository by upgrading the Redis Docker image from version 7.0.5 to 7.0.15 across all Docker Compose configurations. This work addressed critical vulnerabilities, including integer overflows, denial-of-service risks, and potential heap overflows, thereby improving the reliability and security posture of the on-call tooling. Dreik utilized DevOps and security expertise, working primarily with YAML to implement and validate the changes. The update was delivered as a single, well-scoped feature, with thorough validation of builds and deployment readiness, reflecting a focused and methodical approach to infrastructure security.
