During November 2024, Diogo Lopes focused on establishing open-source licensing governance for the OpenBB-finance/backends-for-openbb repository. He introduced a LICENSE file containing the full MIT License text, enabling legal use, distribution, and modification of the backend codebase. This work centered on repository hygiene and compliance, reducing legal risk for users and facilitating external collaboration. Diogo applied his expertise in open-source licensing, legal compliance, and governance practices, ensuring the project aligned with common OSS standards. While no bugs were addressed during this period, his contribution provided a foundation for scalable contributor onboarding and clarified redistribution rights for the backend ecosystem.
