During August 2025, Dan Subak established the foundation for private image hosting within the mitodl/ol-infrastructure repository by creating a private Elastic Container Registry (ECR) on AWS. He implemented a predefined JSON policy to govern access, ensuring secure storage and controlled distribution of private Docker images. Leveraging skills in AWS, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code, Dan’s work enabled private workloads to be deployed securely, aligning with organizational security and compliance requirements. The solution reduced the risk of unauthorized image distribution and provided a scalable governance model for image access, demonstrating a focused approach to infrastructure security and operational best practices.
